The family winery VICAN was founded only in 2015, but it has already earned its position on the wine scene and among wine lovers. It owns 47 hectares of vineyards in Pálava and its flagship is the Riesling. It also produces orange natural wine using the 8,000-year-old Georgian method - in clay kvevri jars. The owner of the winery is film producer Tomáš Vican, who made the films Berry, Baikers and the series Vinaři. And thanks to his long friendship with Karel Roden, a unique edition of wines bearing the actor's name was also created. From April to October you can sit in the winery's farmyard and have a board with homemade cheese or other tapas. There is a children's play area and they can also see Romeo the donkey and Leonardo the llama.
Pálava was cultivated by Ing. Josef Veverka by crossing the varieties Gewürztraminer and Müller Thurgau. Probably the best results are achieved mainly in the Mikulov subregion, in the vicinity of the municipalities of Perná, Pavlov or Bulhary, then in Lechovice, Popice or Čejkovice. Pálava is often automatically perceived as a sweet wine, i.e. with a higher residual sugar but this is not always the rule. In the dry version we discover the charm and beauty of this variety.
