On an area of almost 40 hectares we grow 9 white and 3 blue varieties. The flagship varieties of the winery are Riesling and Riesling Welsh, while the Burgundy varieties are Pinot Blanc and Chardonnay. Work in the vineyards is mainly carried out by hand in the most gentle way. We do not overload the vines and take care of their health and nutrition all year round. Kolby was founded by Oldřich Drápal in 1997 and is now owned by the J&T Group. According to written records, the history of vine growing on Kolby Hill dates back to the reign of King Přemysl Otakar II.
Sauvignon belongs among the most popular three white wines together with the Chardonnay and Riesling varieties. It is assumed that it comes from the French region of Bordeaux or from the Loire region. The most typical Sauvignons can be found in the Znojmo or Mikulov region.
