About winemaker

NEOKLAS a.s. Šardice was founded in 1995 and since 2016 it has been part of the VINIFERA Wine Group. It focuses on the production of quality Moravian wine. It manages 400 ha of vineyards in 17 cadastral territories and 24 vineyard lines. With the entry of a new owner, significant investments have been made in the vineyards and their renewal and the purchase of new equipment. The winery, with a new team of oenologists, is placing greater emphasis on more environmentally friendly vineyard management in line with local climatic conditions.

Basic characteristics of wine

It is said that Pinot Noir came to us in the 14th century during the reign of Charles IV. However, the authenticity of this information has never been proven. In our country, it is grown in all wine-growing subregions, the most widespread is in the Velkopavlovice and Mikulov regions. Pinot Noir from the vicinity of Mělník, Litoměřice, in Moravia from the Bzenecko and Mutěnice regions are excellent.
