About winemaker

The David Chocholatý Winery is a young Czech winery established in 2015. It focuses on the production of quality wines from varieties typical of the Czech wine region with an emphasis on its uniqueness. It processes grapes from Mělník, Venice and Prague. The planned production is 5,000 bottles. The Chocholatý winery is one of the few Czech wineries to have its young St. Martin's wines recognised.

Basic characteristics of wine

It is said that Pinot Noir came to us in the 14th century during the reign of Charles IV. However, the authenticity of this information has never been proven. In our country, it is grown in all wine-growing subregions, the most widespread is in the Velkopavlovice and Mikulov regions. Pinot Noir from the vicinity of Mělník, Litoměřice, in Moravia from the Bzenecko and Mutěnice regions are excellent.
