About winemaker

Slightly different wines ... wines made without the use of other, albeit permitted, substances. The producer's intention is to make a wine that is as close to nature as possible. The emphasis is on the quality of the grapes and the terroir (the place of origin of the grapes). The owner Ing. Jiří Kopeček is a renowned expert who taught at the Wine School in Valtice for 12 years and now holds the position of President of the Wine Academy Valtice. On the occasion of the announcement of the Winemaker of the Year 2012, Ing. Jiří Kopeček was inducted into the Hall of Fame for his lifelong work for the Czech and Moravian wine industry.

Basic characteristics of wine

It is said that Pinot Noir came to us in the 14th century during the reign of Charles IV. However, the authenticity of this information has never been proven. In our country, it is grown in all wine-growing subregions, the most widespread is in the Velkopavlovice and Mikulov regions. Pinot Noir from the vicinity of Mělník, Litoměřice, in Moravia from the Bzenecko and Mutěnice regions are excellent.
