"The final is already a great achievement, which is quite a long way from the nomination, through the evaluation of the junior and senior juries, to the decisive visit to the winery and its assessment by the expert committee. This multi-level process allows us to perceive not only the impression a winery gives at first sight, but to get to know it in detail and to appreciate the really best ones," said PhDr. Martin Chlad, President of the Union of Winegrowers of the Czech Republic.
The entire ceremony will be broadcast online from 6 pm on www.vinarstviroku.cz, on YouTube or on the competition' s Facebook page.
In addition to the winners among the wineries, other awards will be presented - LOMAX Enologist of the Year, Achievement of the Year, Prof. Vilém Kraus Award for a distinguished winemaking personality for his or her lifetime contribution to the field of viticulture or winemaking and, new this year, the MENDELU Student Award - 30 students and academics from the field of Viticulture and Enology chose one of the nine wineries selected by the JUNIOR jury.
