Vinné sklepy Kutná Hora, s.r.o. is a family company that has vowed to restore the old glory and long tradition of growing grapes in the Kutná Hora region. The first written mention of winemaking in the Kutná Hora region comes from the Chronicle of Kosmas from 1101. In Kutná Hora and its surroundings, the company grows vines on 54 hectares of vineyards on the routes U všech svatých, Pod chrámem sv. Barbory, Nad kapličkou, U borku and Na příčce. It also produces grapes on 0.5 ha of the renewed vineyard Nad zámkem in Kuks. The local wines are full-bodied, mineral and spicy.
Saint Laurence is our most widespread and most cultivated blue variety (9% of the total area of vineyards). Saint Laurence wine is also one of the main varieties used in the production of St. Martin’s young wine. That's why it matches well with roast goose or duck.
