Welcome to the Svoboda Winery, located in South Moravia and engaged in wine production from growing grapes, through their harvesting and processing, to the production of bourbon and wine itself. The result is very high quality wines, which you can taste in the wine cellar in the wine-growing village of Petrov, in the Plže conservation area. Here, Mr. Svoboda, the owner of the winery, offers both individual wine tastings and full-evening events with guided tasting, dulcimer music and treats such as home-made slaughter.
The variety was cultivated in Velké Pavlovice in 1960 by Ing. Jaroslav Horák from Frankovka and Saint Laurence. It was named in honour of Ch. K. André, the founder of the Association for Vine and Fruit Breeding in Brno. This is one of the reasons why we can find it especially in the Velkopavlovice subregion, however, interesting André wines are definitely also produced in the Slovácko and Mikulov regions.
