This training will take you through the entire year in the vineyard and introduce you to what growing grapes entails. You will learn:

🌱 What the vine cycle looks like throughout the year - from pruning to harvest
✂️ What are the key jobs in the vineyard: pruning, trellising, green work, vineyard protection, yield control
🍂 How terroir, climate and vineyard care affect the final quality of the wine
🚜 How manual vs. mechanical work in the vineyard works and when does it make sense
🍇 How the winemaker decides on the right harvest date and why it matters so much

All of this in a clear, practical way, with an emphasis on how each activity affects the character and quality of the wine you'll get in your glass later.

In a beautiful setting by the Vltava River, during a wine celebration, we will delve together into the story of wine from the very beginning - in clay, sunlight and the care of human hands.

Applications & further information
All you really need to do is come to the festival and the training will take place directly from the stage at 4pm, roughly in the middle of the festival.

The training includes light refreshments and a handout with a yearly calendar of work in the vineyard.

Come expand your horizons, soak up the atmosphere and understand why wine starts at the root - literally.
