After a two-year covid break, the Moravian Smoke and Wine Festival is once again taking place at Veveří Castle near the Brno Dam. Visitors will taste the products of eight small sausage companies and choose the one that appeals to them the most as the sausage king of the year. Will it be the five Radek Ráček? A free stew with every ticket and other killing delicacies will be offered by the company Maso Klouda, which is a partner of this year's event. In the spacious wine tent, 15 family wineries will find a backdrop, and a dulcimer band will set the atmosphere. There will be a pairing of selected wines with great sausage specialties from the medalist of the last edition Pavel Tlapák from Divokých farms.

Martin Klouda will show how best to process meat, which on Saturday will be prepared by Lukáš Nečas, chef from the former great Brno restaurant Simplé. On Sunday, he will be replaced on stage by another Brno great - chef Michal Göth, who now works at the Miura restaurant.

If you like beer, head to the Genius noci brewery from Lomnice near Tišnov. There will also be stronger drinks, for example from Hustopečská mandlárna or Jelínek's fruit spirits. Excellent coffee will be offered by a new small family roastery from Nedvědice.

It is certain that no one will go hungry at Veveří. This is guaranteed by the new bistro Winston, which has been operating at Veveří Castle since spring 2022. It will prepare traditional smoked meat with plum sauce, Alsatian choucroute or smoked vegetable balls.

And the entertainment? An eating contest, a "make your own sausage" corner, roasting sausages over the fire, a photo corner, children cooking for their parents, a theatre, animals, jugglers and other attractions for children. Veveří will be alive again after two years.
