About winemaker
Gurdau is the original German name of Kurdějov. Thanks to its unique terroir and closed microclimate, it is historically one of the most important wine-growing villages in Moravia. In 2012 we planted the first 7 hectares of vineyards here. Our domain is pure, balanced, mineral Rieslings. You can also taste our other varieties - Veltliner and Pinot Blanc. From 2020, the construction of a new wine house in Kurdějov is underway. The winery was established in cooperation with Gala Winery from Bavaria in the Palava region.
Basic characteristics of wine
Rhine Riesling is an ancient, prized variety used primarily for the production of high quality wines. This variety thrives very well in Litoměřice, Mělník, Znojmo, Strážnice and especially in the Slovácko subregion around the town of Bzenec.
