About winemaker

The LAHOFER Winery (www.lahofer.cz) is one of the largest grape growers in the Czech Republic. Together with the company Vinice LAHOFER, it manages 430 hectares of land, for example on the lines Babičák, U Hájku, Volné pole, Waldberg or Lampelberg. This is where the LAHOFER Winery has placed the "Keep Your Head" wine programme (www.mejtesvojihlavu.cz). LAHOFER also takes care of the Paradise Vineyard on the historic terraces below the St. Nicholas Cathedral near the centre of Znojmo.

Basic characteristics of wine

Pinot Gris is known all over the world. Pinot comes from the French pin as the pine cone resembles the shape of a pinot grape. Pinot Gris is also interesting by the fact that although it is a white wine, the color of the grape is almost blue, more precisely gray-blue-red. It is widespread in all sub-areas, mostly in the Velkopavlovice region.
