About winemaker

MARCUS wines are processed with the utmost care and emphasis is placed on a natural approach to the grapes and the vineyard. We reduce the yield by cutting in a single pull to obtain a high extractability of grapes with characteristic varietality. All green work is done by hand. We then use the latest technology in production, processing the must using a controlled fermentation method to make full-bodied wines with a distinctive bouquet. Different lots of the same grape variety are produced in each vintage, most notably in Riesling, differentiated by the time of harvest and the ripeness of the grapes, but also by the technological processes used, which we constantly try to innovate in line with the latest knowledge. Marcus wines win awards not only in the Czech Republic but also all over the world. (London, Hong-Kong, Vienna, San Francisco, Slovakia.

Basic characteristics of wine

Gewürztraminer or Traminer rot is white wine. More precisely, it is a variety of white wine. So why is it called red? This is due to the reddish colour of the grapes. It is grown in all sub-areas, most of which can be found in the Velkopavlovice, Bzenec, Mikulov or Čáslav or Most regions. As with Pálava, Traminer will show its beauty, aroma and spiciness especially in the dry version.
