About winemaker

The Vrba Family Winery was established in the second half of 2009 in Mutěnice, one of the largest wine-growing villages in the Czech Republic. We are a young and developing winery, currently farming less than one hectare of vineyards, for lack of, we buy only the best quality grapes from the surrounding villages - the area Slovácká and Velkopavlovická, which makes 90% of our production. Our aim is to produce light - fresh wines with a fruity taste, pleasant acidity ...... come and taste! We process grapes with modern and gentle methods - decalcification of must, fermentation with noble yeasts, controlled temperature during fermentation to maintain the aroma in the wine, degradation of malic acid in red wines is a matter of course. The red wines are aged in wooden barrels, some in barrique barrels, all in our own wine cellar. All our products are intended for gastronomy, especially for all wine lovers. Our main varieties - Riesling, Sauvignon, Riesling Wallachian, Grüner Veltliner, Pinot Gris, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon rosé, Tramin red, Dornfelder, St. Lawrence, Frankincense . The wine cellar is located in a locality with almost five hundred wine cellars called "Bůdy" in Horská Street, it is built on one of the highest places in Mutěnice, where there is a beautiful view of the village and the surrounding area.

Basic characteristics of wine

Saint Laurence is our most widespread and most cultivated blue variety (9% of the total area of vineyards). Saint Laurence wine is also one of the main varieties used in the production of St. Martin’s young wine. That's why it matches well with roast goose or duck.
