About winemaker

Bettina Lobkowicz Winery Mělník is a producer of wines from its own grapes. It continues the centuries-old winemaking tradition in Mělník, where it farms the historic vineyards of the Lobkowicz family. Right by the Elbe River, wine is produced in a very gentle way in reconstructed cellars using the most modern technology. In addition to wines, we offer sparkling wines, produced using the classic method of fermentation in bottles, as well as wine spirits and grape seed oil. The winery has a beautifully maintained garden where you can sit, taste wine and enjoy the unique atmosphere on the riverbank.

Basic characteristics of wine

It is said that Pinot Noir came to us in the 14th century during the reign of Charles IV. However, the authenticity of this information has never been proven. In our country, it is grown in all wine-growing subregions, the most widespread is in the Velkopavlovice and Mikulov regions. Pinot Noir from the vicinity of Mělník, Litoměřice, in Moravia from the Bzenecko and Mutěnice regions are excellent.
