In the westernmost tip of the Znojmo wine sub-region, on the southern slope of the Sádek Chateau, this unique educational wine trail was built over three years. 
Its starting point are the acacia pergolas of the "Trento" type on which 40 different grape varieties are brought out. The propagation material was provided by the genebanks of the major wine institutes of the continent. All the varieties are of the genus Vitis and many of them are unique due to their ancient origins, mainly from Proles pontica, and are found in only a few places in the world (Damascenka, Muscat yellow, Blue Janek). Others are commonly known to most of the wine world as must varieties for wine production (Riesling,Grüner Veltliner, 
Cabernet Sauvignon). Other new varieties of the Vitis genus are presented (Bianca, Festivalnyj) suitable for organic cultivation.All varieties are shown and described in colour. 
The wine trail continues with a demonstration of different types of vine pruning and management, starting with cordons and ending with the modern two-branch Geneva curtain. 
The almost two-kilometre journey through the local vineyards will end with a tasting of local wines and wines from other regions of Moravia.
The final sitting with the golden beverage will further enhance the overall experience of this journey through the vineyards of Sádec. 
 
- The educational wine trail is open from 1.6. to 30.9. all day long with an accompanying guide and expert commentary. 
- Tour time including tasting approx. 1 hour. 
- Minimum group size is 10 people. 
- Registration at the local reception, restaurant or by calling 568 882 883.
