Mělník winery Kraus - Mělník

The Kraus winery in Mělník is a traditional family winery founded by Prof. Vilém Kraus, an important grape breeder. The vineyards (26 hectares) benefit from the favourable microclimate near the Elbe River and are situated on gentle south-western slopes. It produces about 120 000 bottles of mostly white wines (Riesling, Hibernal, Pinot Noir) from its own grapes annually. The emphasis is on grape ripeness and harmony of flavours, not just on sugar content. The wines are great for both casual sipping and for those times when you want to indulge in something special.
