Our wines are very much unique for at least two reasons: firstly, they are wines from the capital and there really aren't many of them. Secondly, it is a wine produced by a wine cooperative whose members are not professionals in the field of winemaking and it is therefore very interesting to try how wine is made by "ordinary" wine lovers. Máchalka produces grapes which we then have processed by real professionals. Specifically in the Wilomenna Winery, in Chlumčany near Louny. This ensures not only the preservation of regionality but also top quality processing.
The vineyard is located under Prosecká Street, next to the Prosek Bobsled Track. Entrance from the parking lot.
Provozovna
The first idea for the restoration of vineyards in Prague 9, and thus the creation of a wine cooperative, dates back to 1994. After two years of preparations and negotiations, the St. Wenceslas Wine Cooperative was founded on 18 June 1996. In the autumn of 1996, the future vineyard was surveyed, and a year later, in October 1997, the planting of shrubs began and was completed in the spring of the following year. The entire vineyard was built by the members of the cooperative with their own forces, with significant support from the Prague 9 Municipal District.
In 2005, five of our wines won bronze medals in Šardice na Moravě. Máchalka is classified in the first category of vineyards for quality wines.
In 2010 our vineyard received the award for the best wine collection of the 2009 vintage at the exhibition in Mělník. In 2011, the second place in the competition of Prague vineyards.
