AMPELOS, STANICE VINAŘSKÁ ZNOJMO, s.r.o. is the oldest breeding station in the Czech Republic and one of the oldest in the world. It was founded in 1895. AMPELOS in Vrbovec continues to breed even today. It is engaged in breeding new grape varieties that are early and produce grapes with high sugar content. AMPELOS is carrying out maintenance breeding of 30 grape varieties on its land. There is also a national vine gene pool.
