The first international competition dedicated to the Blaufränkisch International Competition - information for winemakers
Dear winemakers, we are proud to present the first ever international competition dedicated to Blaufränkisch, the Blaufränkisch International Competition, which is a groundbreaking event for winemakers, merchants, and lovers of Blaufränkisch wines. The aim of the competition is to compare Blaufränkisch wines from around the world, appreciate their diversity, and showcase the strength of this phenomenal variety across terroirs and technologies. This event, including an accompanying program, will take place on February 12–14, 2026, at the Kraví hora Hotel in Bořetice. We would be honored to have you participate in this historic first international competition dedicated to Frankovka. The deadline for applications is January 16, 2026.
VOC Blue Mountains, z.s. and the National Wine Centre as the organizer of the Blaufränkisch International Competition (BIC), invites all producers and sellers of Frankovka wine to participate in this exceptional and historic event.

Frequently asked questions
What is the registration fee and when must it be paid by?
The fee for the registration of one sample is 1240 CZK / 50 €.
For samples submitted by 31 December 2025, a reduced registration fee of 999 CZK / 40 € applies.
The registration fee must be paid no later than 2 February 2026. Late payment or non-payment may result in the sample being excluded from the competition.
Samples should come from a whole lot of at least 400 litres.
