October is the perfect time to enjoy wine in all its glory - from bourbon festivals to open cellar festivals to prestigious award-winning wine tastings. Take advantage of the last sunny days and head to wine events where you can taste wine, meet winemakers and soak up the autumnal atmosphere of historic towns and picturesque vineyards. Each event offers a unique experience and an interesting programme for all wine lovers.
Come and enjoy the celebration of wine traditions. From 2nd to 4th October 2025, Hustopeče will be transformed into the capital of bourbon, the consumption of which is carefully monitored by the local "bourbon police". A rich programme is prepared - historical parade, dulcimer music, fire and drum show and much more. The children's scene will offer, for example, theatrical fairy tales, magic performances or juggling. Vypsaná fiXa will play on Friday, Aneta Langerová and David Koller on Saturday. Come and discover what the mausoleums, the mountain council, the percussionist or the Bourbon Union meeting is all about.
And once again Hustopeče - on Saturday, October 4, from 12 to 8 pm, a public tasting of wines from the nomination exhibition of the National Wine Competition will take place at the Wine Wellness Hotel Amande. This year, 865 samples from 108 winemakers and wineries participated in the Velkopavlovice subregion. Visitors can taste all wines, from fresh whites to expressive reds, led by the sub-region's champion, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon, a selection of grapes from the B\V winery in Milotice.
People from all over the region flock to the Valtice Vintage Festival. The programme starts on Friday, 3 October at 3 p.m. on Svobody Square, when the dulcimer musicians from Valtice will be the first to perform. In the evening Petr Bende and ABBA Stars will play. On Saturday, 4 October, the costume parade starts at 11 am, followed by folklore choirs, musicians and modern music - Kandráčovci, Xindl X, Support Lesbiens, Ready Kirken and others. You will have the opportunity to taste local wines and bourch, visit stalls with goodies and enjoy the accompanying programme for children - face painting, clown or bouncy castle.
On Saturday, 4 October, the Uherské Hradiště wine cycling trails will symbolically close. It starts with breakfast at 8am in Masaryk Square - local goodies will help to energize your bikes and legs. At 9.30 am it will be time to pedal - there are four routes for cyclists and one for pedestrians to choose from, and there will be wine stops on the marked paths between the vineyards. The event ends again at Masaryk Square, you can look forward to a concert, a raffle and of course a tasting of local wines. Entertainment in wine shops or cellars will continue in the evening.
On Saturday 11 October, take a popular night tour of Znojmo. A certified guide and a sommelier will accompany you on a guided tour of the most beautiful sights - you will taste a total of 6 samples of top local wines. Start at 6 pm from the BALANCE coffee & wine café. Reservations are recommended, seating is limited.
An exclusive evening full of wine and gastronomic delights, this is the Šaldorf Draw at the Špalek Winery in Nový Šaldorf-Sedlešovice. On Friday , 17 October , you can look forward to a five-course tasting menu prepared by the renowned Brno restaurant Kohout na vin. The menu will focus on the pairing of game with wines from the Špalek winery, not only reds, but also distinctive whites and one orange wine. The evening will also include a guided tasting of 12 wine samples. For reservations and more information, contact the winery at vino@spalek.bio, capacity is limited.
At the prestigious counter wine tasting on Friday 17 October from 6 pm, you will taste the wines that won medals in this year's King of Wines competition. Visitors choose their own wines in the electronic catalogue and if they participate in the wine evaluation in the app, they will be entered into a draw for bottles of wine. The event is hosted in the newly renovated halls of the Louka Monastery in Znojmo.
On 25 and 26 October, the festival offers a unique opportunity to taste wines from 31 wineries directly in the cellars and historical premises in Bzenec, Vracov, Vlkoš and Kyjov. The price of a two-day ticket includes entry to all cellars with tasting of at least 300 festival wines, a printed guide andfestival app, tasting glass, stylish textile bag and unlimited rides on the festival buses. The cellars will be open on Saturday from 10am to 9pm and on Sunday from 10am to 3pm. There is also bargain wine shopping directly with the winemakers on both days.
A festive vintage in Vrbovec in the vineyard by the chapel and in the open cellars on Saturday 25. October includes a parade of Vrbovec councillors, gamekeepers and winemakers in period dress, bourbon, cider, young wine and singing. It will also commemorate winemaking traditions at the historic log press - the ceremonial pressing of the lastVrbovec vintage, putting the goat in the cellar for the winter with the witchdoctor and giving gifts to the winemakers. The cellars will be open from 12 to 10 pm.
