Moravian wines again dominated the international wine competition in Poland!

The champion, i.e. the best wine of the competition, was declared Pálava straw wine 2021 from Réva Rakvice winery. Interestingly, the same wine, but of the 2020 vintage, took second place in last year's competition. The winery also added one more silver medal for the Hibernal straw wine 2021.

"We are happy that our honest work and our efforts to constantly improve and move forward have been recognised at an international competition like Cool Climate. We are very pleased with the award. But we were even more pleased that the best wine of the show was Pálava Straw Wine 2021. In the production, we placed great emphasis on quality and selection of raw materials and gentle processing. Judging by the results, it seems to have paid off," said Marek Grbavčic, the Operations Director of Réva Rakvice Winery.

9 gold and 20 silver medals

The second place went to the Pinot Noir Selection 2018 from the Vinselekt Michlovský winery, which with 6 medals (4 gold and 2 silver) became our most successful representative at the competition. Out of a total of 29 medals for our wine, 9 were gold and 20 silver.

The Cool Climate Wine Awards (CCWA) competition was founded and organized by "Czas Wina", the largest Polish wine magazine and is held annually in Krakow. It is intended for all types of wines (i.e. still and sparkling, dry and sweet), from all wine regions around the world, which fall into the category of "cool climate" wines. An international jury of the world's renowned wine experts (this year from nine countries), including the Masters of Wine, will issuegives an independent and unbiased verdict on these wines, ensuring that the competition is fair and professional.
