The Tábor Wine Festival celebrates 15 years.

Wine will flow in Tábor for two months and there will be no shortage of culture either. The Tábor Wine Festival celebrates 15 years with a varied programme for adults and children. The next edition was opened on Saturday 25 February by the Jára Cimrman Theatre. Lovers of gastronomy will enjoy the best of domestic and foreign vineyards and cuisines from 7 March, culture lovers will not miss the theatre performances and magic shows, and fans of movement will also enjoy a new event.

"Every year we push the festival programme further. Culture lovers will find leading theatre performances, for example Dejvice Theatre with actors such as Ivan Trojan, Martha Issová or Hynek ČermáMichal Dlouhý will bring the legendary November, Jaroslav Dušek will be there, and one of the best illusionists, Pavel Dolejška, will appear in the programme with his magic show. We will offer mainly great gastronomic experiences or tastings of award-winning Czech and foreign wines, but also coffee and beer. Tickets are disappearing fast, but you can still get them for many events," says Jiří Blafka, director of the Tábor Wine Festival.

A new feature of the programme is the Wine Trail, which will take visitors along a part of the European award-winning trail around the Lužnice River. "We like to go on trips to the countryside with our family, so we thought why not make them more enjoyable with good wine! In Tábor, the trail will be spiced up with wines from the Dunajov Hills, so wine will flow through the Lužnice valley. The wine trail will then also take you tothe beautiful Průhonice Park near Prague," explains Jiří Blafka.

He added that in March and April Tábor will be visited by the best winemakers, including this year's winemakers. The winners of the Winemaker of the Year and Winery of the Year competitions, as well as breeding and winemaking legend Miloš Michlovský. "I'll say it in Pomeranian, come, maybe we'll taste something good!" invites the winemaker, who is behind the breeding of many new resistant grape varieties or the best non-alcoholic wines in the country.

The varied festival programme, which includes the popular Wine Wandering in the Tábor cellars, tastings with winemakers, adventurous blind wine tasting or dinner not only with chef Martin Svatek in the new Mace restaurant, is available on the website www.festival-vina.cz. There it is also possible to buy tickets and gift vouchers in advance.
