The fourteenth edition of the cycling marathon around the Vranov Dam, which is traditionally part of the Author Marathon Tour, starts on 27 August 2022. This time the entire route will run only along the northern side of the Vranov Dam, thus omitting its southern part. In addition to the main fifty-kilometre race, a shorter twenty-five-kilometre route will be prepared this year. The competitors will set off for it a quarter of an hour after the starting gun of the main race. A short circuit will also be prepared right on the beach for the youngest cycling enthusiasts in several age categories, starting at the age of one. The track leads through one of the most picturesque locations in the whole of South Moravia - in the vicinity of the so-called Moravian Adriatic. The longest and most demanding, fifty kilometres long and moderately demanding route will lead this year from the beach of the Vranov Dam through Zálesí, Chvalatice, Dešov, around the Bítov Castle, through Zblovice, near the Chvalatická Bay and back to the Beach Camp on the Vranov Dam. In the start and finish area there is a wide range of services for competitors before and after the race. We will repeat the attractive additional program for children and the popular, free wine tasting from the Znojmo wine sub-region.
