The 18th edition of the wine competition for the title Winemaker of the Year of the Czech Republic 2020 is an exceptional project, cooperating on an international level with the best tasters from all over the world. In addition to evaluating the wines in the individual competition categories, we also determine the ranking of each winemaker's representative collection. On the basis of this ranking, the competitors are then awarded the title of Winemaker of the Year of the Czech Republic and awards for the next in the ranking.
The only international parameter for the evaluation of wine producers is the quality of wines, and therefore we follow the international standards of sensory evaluation of wine quality O.I.V. We use renowned foreign tasters and Master of Wine holders to communicate with the media during the evaluation committee meetings. We organize meetings with journalists to highlight not only the growing quality of our wines, but also their potential for placement on foreign markets. Last year, 71 winemakers and wineries participated in the competition. They sent 630 samples to the competition. The subsequent Gala Evening is expected to appear again on Czech Television.
