The morning part of the seminar will be devoted to the history, geology and modern trends in winemaking. For a general look back on the history of the region's villages, the history enthusiast of our region, Mr. Zeno Čižmár, will give an interesting in-depth talk. This will be followed by an expert lecture by geologist Jiří Nečas on the geological specifics of the Blue Mountains. The third highly erudite lecturer will be Mr. Miloš Michlovský, who will surely appeal to many participants with his high quality and distinctive lecture entitled Care for the vineyard with emphasis on terroir and blue varieties.
Mr. Jan Stávek, a great promoter of this great variety, will introduce the Frankovka variety as a Central European jewel, and along with the presentation he will also conduct a tasting of domestic Blue Mountain micro-vinification samples in a match with foreign wines. This tasting will be eruditely commented by perhaps the most famous sommelier of the Czech Republic and Slovakia, Mr. Libor Nazarčuk, who, following Jan Stávka, will conclude the morning cycle of lectures on how the Blue Mountains stand in the appellation system of the Czech Republic.
Lukáš Stávek will start the afternoon part of the seminar by introducing the Blue Mountains region with regard to the growth of tourism, its positive and negative specifics. The future tourist outlook and recommendations for focusing the promotion of quality services with an emphasis on families with children and a wide range of local products.
A guided tasting of eleven wines, both old and currently classified in the VOC Blue Mountains appellation, intended for sommeliers will be held under the baton of the aforementioned excellent Libor Nazarchuk.
