The second level of the SOMMELIER study programme. The course is recommended as a follow-up to the course "Fundamentals of Sommeliering, Wine and Winemaking in the Czech Republic". The course deals with the issues of grape growing and wine production. The course therefore includes a visit to a winery and a demonstration of the grapevine. The lecturer will introduce the course participants in detail to the most cultivated varieties, including a tasting of a total of 8 unique wines. A substantial part of the course is devoted to wine defects and diseases. With the help of practical exercises, the course participants are thus introduced to the most common defects and diseases of wine. Each student has an online study account with scripts and review tests. The study account remains fully functional after the course is completed.
